Well, there's a lot of reasons. I mean, roses only last a couple of weeks. And that's if you leave them in water. And they only really exist to be pretty. That's like saying, 'My love for you is transitory and based solely on your appearance.' But a potato! Potatoes last for fucking forever, man. In fact, not only will they not rot, they actually grow shit even if you just leave them in the sack. That part alone makes it a good symbol. But there's more! There are so many ways to enjoy a potato! You can even make a battery with it! And that's like saying 'I have many ways in which I show my love for you.' And potatoes may be ugly, but they're still awesome. So that's like saying, 'It doesn't matter at all what you look like, I'll still love you.'"

So my mind begins to wander when I work graveyard and don't get enough sleep...freezing while waiting for the bus...etc...my thoughts last night...

It’s a lonely word it has been said.

Add another one to it and One becomes Two.

Two is unique to One.

Add One to Two and you get Three.

Three is totally unique from One and Two.

Basic math. So why is it so hard to get uniqueness?

One day 3 bumped into 1. One didn’t like 3 because 3 was too different.

“What’s with all the curves, Three?” One asked.

“It’s better than just being a boring straight up and down line, One.”

1 and 3 began quarreling over which was better…a straight line or curves.

Then along came 2. “I have the best of both of you, a straight line and a curve!”

Three did not like the compromising 2 at all and killed him.

One saw Three kill Two and so killed Three.

All that was left was One.

Tragic because the numbers couldn’t accept the differences in each other. If One had stayed with 3 we could have had Four. If 2 and 3 had gotten along there could have been a Five. So on and so on.

Instead all we have is One.

Imagine the possibilities if we could accept our uniqueness and the differences in others.

Would you truly be happy if someone said, “All married people live in Montana. All single men live in Washington. All Single women live in New York.”

Still…each man and woman is different. So break it down even more. All men who play Pac-Man live in Seattle…all men who play War Craft live in Yakima. Get it?

What if we broke it down by races. Each race live in their own territory. Then each territory is broken down by sexual orientation, religious belief, weight, hair color, etc… Eventually we would all be separated by our uniqueness.

Life would be pretty boring being just One.

Enjoy uniqueness…seek similarities.
